A Student Centered Approach To Learning
Through Microschooling and Private Tutoring

Hybrid Families at Riverside Academy
At Riverside Academy, our hybrid program is designed for families who want the support of a small, mastery-based school while still keeping meaningful learning time at home.
Hybrid scholars attend Riverside Tuesday through Thursday for core academic instruction, small-group learning, and community connection. There is always the option to add on an enrichment day on either Monday or Friday.
Our hybrid program is designed to provide:
-
A strong academic foundation with personalized instruction
-
Engaging educational experiences
-
Relevant and meaningful learning opportunities
-
A supportive learning environment
-
Strong communication and family partnership
Unlike a traditional full-time school model, hybrid enrollment functions as a shared educational partnership between Riverside and the family. Scholars receive direct instruction, guidance, accountability, and support while on campus and continue practicing and applying skills at home on their off-campus days.
Within the hybrid model, parents remain the primary educational leaders while Riverside staff work alongside families to provide structure, encouragement, academic support, and meaningful learning experiences.
What Hybrid Families Can Expect
Hybrid scholars are a part of the Riverside family. They participate in our classroom culture, EAGLES Code of Conduct, medallion system, assessments, celebrations, field trips, and school-wide community.
Because hybrid students are not on campus every day, partnership between home and school is especially important.
Parents should expect to:
Support Student Learning
Maintain Open Communication
Promote Consistent Participation
Partner in Character Development
Financial Responsibility
Support the Riverside Community
At-Home Learning Responsibilities
Hybrid families are responsible for completing assigned work on home days and providing instruction or enrichment in areas that may not be covered during the student’s on-campus schedule, including:
-
Science
-
Art
-
Music
-
PE
-
Writing practice
-
Independent reading
-
IXL or assigned skill work
Some medallions and activities may only be completed during in-person instruction, depending on the lesson, project, or group activity.
Communication
Hybrid families receive the same communication as full-time families, including school updates, newsletters, progress information, and important reminders.
We ask families to stay connected through our main communication platforms and reach out when support is needed. Riverside is built on partnership, and we want our hybrid families to feel informed and supported every step of the way.
Attendance & Participation
Hybrid scholars are expected to attend their scheduled Riverside days consistently and arrive ready to learn. Because they attend fewer days on campus, regular attendance is important for academic growth, group participation, and staying connected to the classroom community.
Is Hybrid Right for Your Family?
Hybrid learning works best for families who are able to provide structure, consistency, and support at home. It is a wonderful fit for families who want both the guidance of Riverside and the flexibility of home-based learning.
At Riverside, we believe school can look different while still being meaningful, challenging, and full of purpose. Our hybrid program gives families another way to be part of that mission.
